April 2018 Return to Nanjing

How great it was to see all the kids and be at the birth of Emili and Jon’s first child, Jack Wilder. We arrived on Sunday and Wilder was born on Tuesday. Thank you Lord for your perfect timing! Mother, Father and baby are all doing well. The rest of the crew is actively involved in work, child rearing and college. Now that we are back in China, we pick up where we left off three weeks prior to our departure with surgery, teaching English classes and learning the daily life of living in Nanjing. The weather has turned warm and the flowers in full bloom. We finally were able to get the eBike situation figured out and have 15 miles of beautiful river park trails to enjoy.

We had a three day Chinese Labor Day holiday and went to a geological site with Steve, QuiLei, Mr. Wang and Elize Bjerken ( a third year medical student who came for a two week visit to be exposed to cardiac surgery)

The evenings are beautiful outside our apartment with the Nanjing Eye Bridge

I had the opportunity to meet with the Director of Finance for the city as well as the director of the Health Care Bureau. They wanted to discuss the opportunity for doctors and nurses in all specialties to come and visit Nanjing and the medical centers!

On Sundays we are enjoying the English speaking services at His Holy Word . It is only about four kilometers from us. We have met several friends that have taken us around the city! It is all about building relationships and involving ourselves in not only the medical arena, but in whatever He brings across our paths. Thank you for your prayer support!
