Third Week

We have had a week of changing weather. Cold and rainy one day and sun shiny and relatively warm the next. It has not dampened our spirit and joy of being in our new home. We had dinner with Janice and Justin at their new restaurant and look forward to getting to deepen our friendship.
Surgery continues to be busy but go well. It amazes me at the complexity of the operations and how the vast majority do very well. I am introducing new surgical techniques to the already accomplished program. Becki continues to teach English to the young doctors and nurses twice a week.
The last day of the Chinese Lunar New Year ended with the lantern and dumpling festival. I have attached a few pictures of the decorations and sights near the Inner Wall of Nanjing. The wall is only a few blocks from the hospital.
On a personal note, I have had an URI. Well it progressed to the point of catching the attention of my Chinese friends. They insisted I go to the hospital for blood work and a low dose CT of the chest. All proved negative and I am slowly on the mend. PTL!

  1. Praying for you as we watch our Southern sunsets across the lake and ask for the Lord’s blessings on you as the sun is rising upon your new day in Nanjing. Thanks for the excellent update and we will share with our small group. Becki, I hope you’re taking time to journal your experiences for your grandchildren as you recount the story of how the Lord brought your ministry about and His call to serve Him fully even into retirement. Love you guys dearly !!
