It was a full week with deepening of friendships. Becki and I attended a press conference announcing our joining Nanjing First Hospital. In addition to surgery, I started seeing patients in the outpatient clinic. Excellent translation by Edward, the CV surgeon who spent two months with us in Florence, SC in October and November 2017. Sunday we went to a multidenominational church that looked a lot as I would expect Heaven to be like, people, from all nations. At church we were warmly welcomed by Chinese and citizens of other nations all working or going to school in Nanjing. We met a Taiwanese lady who owns a restaurant with her husband, just down the street from us. We have been invited for dinner on Tuesday. More to come.
So good to see you both are settling in. Bob and I look forward to our visit there seeing new and old friends. Spring is here with bulbs peeking out and some flowering trees beginning to brighten the landscape. Let us know what special items you would like us to bring over. I promise I will make an effort to lighten my luggage this trip! Deepest Regards
Cheri and Bob
Cheri: So great to hear from you. The cherry blossoms are also in bloom here. We don’t need anything except for you and Bob to come and enjoy yourselves. My best!
